Academic Overview

There are many ways we measure success at Harlem Renaissance High School, and the students academic performance is just one of them.

Of the 44 seniors enrolled at HRHS, all of them are on track to graduate in June: meeting all all the Regents and New York State requirements. One of our students, Corey Torres, was the recipient of the 2008 POSSE full-scholarship award to Lawrence University.

Classes are set up using the portfolio-based workshop structure. Students have the standard classes to meet the State and Regents requirements from the Math, Science, and English Departments, for example. They also have the opportunity to explore their creative side and learn new ways to express themselves with various electives or Music or Performing Arts class.

Our Academic Department strives to Rebuild our students confidence; Renew their sense of accomplishment; Restore their work ethic.
